Welcome to my website.  My name is Daniel Rowan and I have been performing magic as a hobbyist for over 50 years.

I created this website to make it easy to purchase my four books – Magical Rope Artistry,  Ropeman  New Vistas in Rope Magic,  Magic on a Shoelace, and Pure Magic with Rope
 

Rope magic is a wonderful medium for a working magician. It can be  seen by a large crowd,  performed while up close and surrounded and  takes up almost no space in your case.

Rope magic makes a great fill-in effect if something goes wrong.  In  the heat of a magic show it is a blessing to have a ready to work  routine that only requires the props.

In his Amateur Magician’s Handbook,  Henry Hay distinguished  between hard easy tricks and easy hard tricks.  Sleight of hand tricks  require more effort but when the skill is obtained, you will have had  time to develop the acting and presentation needed to make a puzzle into  entertainment.  You will have magic that can be performed under all  conditions.
